And in tennis Ben Shelton captured the National Bank Open in a gritty three-set battle against Karen Khachanov. At 22 he is the first American to win a Masters 1000 hard-court title since 2003. Shelton’s clutch play and rise to a career-high No. 6 signal a bright future for American tennis.
